About Me
I've been fascinated by wildlife for as long as I can remember. What started with me catching insects in my backyard as child, to me getting a field guide on my 10th birthday grew into a lifelong pursuit of observing, studying and sharing the natural world. My work has taken me from the quiet lakes and boreal forests to tropical rainforest and remote coastlines and everything in between - always drawn to the small details that reveal the rhythm of the natural world.
Over the years, that curiosity evolved into a career built on both education and hands-on experience. It began with wildlife rehabilitation and citizen science involvement in my younger years, contributing to projects that deepened my understanding of animal behavior and conservation. Later, I moved into outdoor education, helping others connect to others through experience and observation. Time spent working in professional animal care in a zoo setting gave me a close perspective on animal behavior and welfare, experience that continues to influence how I understand and work with wildlife in the field.
Guiding brings all of these experiences together. My work now focuses on creating opportunities for others to see the natural world with patience and curiosity. I encourage people to look beyond identification and notice patterns, interactions, and quieter moments that define each species and place. I believe that good guiding is not about chasing sightings but about building understanding, and that the best encounters happen when people slow down and pay attention to what is unfolding around them.
Beyond guiding, I remain involved in research and monitoring efforts focused on wildlife, supporting ongoing conservation and community science projects. I also express my connection to nature through illustration and photography, using art as another way to study and share the details that make each species unique. These experiences keep me grounded in realities of the natural world, reinforcing the link between observation, education and protection.
Every tour I lead is shaped by that perspective, a balance of scientific understanding, practical experience, creativity and a love for nature. My goal is simple: to create experiences that deepen people's connection to the wild spaces and living things that share our world.
